How Much Does a Trip to Europe Cost?
Getaways by CCTC · October 22, 2026

Europe can be a $3,000 trip or a $15,000 trip for the same ten days. Here's where the money actually goes, so you can decide what to spend it on.
Ten day per person ranges, air included
What moves the number most
Season first. The same hotel in Rome can double between April and July. Airfare second: shoulder season fares are often 30 to 40% lower. Hotel category third. Number of cities fourth, because every move costs a night's value and a train ticket.
Rough daily costs on the ground
Hotels $180 to $400 a night for a good four star in a major city. Meals $60 to $120 per person per day if you eat well but not extravagantly. Trains $40 to $120 per leg. Museums and tours $25 to $90 each.
Where we'd save
Travel in May, September, or October. Stay three nights minimum per city. Book one excellent guided experience instead of four mediocre ones. Choose apartments for families. Skip the rental car in cities entirely.
Where we wouldn't
Location of your hotel, a good guide at the sites that reward one, and premium economy on an overnight flight if the budget allows. Those three change how the trip feels.
What our help costs
Nothing for most itineraries. We're paid by the hotels and suppliers we book, and we often have amenities (breakfast, upgrades, resort credits) that you can't get booking direct.
Send us a budget and a wish list and we'll show you what's possible.
Let’s plan it together
Let's put real numbers on it.
Tell us where you'd love to go and roughly what you'd like to spend. We'll send an itinerary that fits, with the costs laid out clearly.
