Europe
See Europe Without Changing Hotels Every Two Nights
Getaways by CCTC · June 26, 2026

The classic first Europe trip tries to see five countries in twelve days. It works, sort of, but you spend a surprising amount of that trip in train stations with a suitcase. Here's the alternative.
Pick two or three bases, not eight stops
Choose a small number of cities and stay three or four nights in each. Day trip out and come home to the same room. From Florence you can reach Siena, Lucca, and the Chianti hills. From Paris you can reach Versailles, Giverny, and Reims. From Barcelona you can reach Girona and the Costa Brava. You'll see the same places with a fraction of the packing.
The rhythm that makes it work
One big thing per day, plus a long lunch. Mornings for the museum or the site with timed entry, afternoons for wandering, evenings for dinner that starts late. Travelers who plan three attractions a day come home needing a vacation.
When a river cruise is the better answer
If the idea of moving at all sounds exhausting, a river cruise solves it entirely. Your hotel moves overnight, docks in the center of the next town, and you walk off into it. The Rhine, the Danube, the Douro, and the Seine all work beautifully for a first trip, and most fares include excursions and wine with dinner.
Practical things worth knowing
Where we come in
We handle the sequencing, the timed entries, the transfers, and the hotel that's actually in the right neighborhood rather than the one that photographs well. You get an itinerary that flows, and one number to call if anything shifts.
Tell us where you're drawn to and we'll build it around you.
Let’s plan it together
Let's build your Europe trip.
Tell us your travel window and the places you're drawn to. We'll design an itinerary with fewer moves and more actual vacation.
