Royal Caribbean vs Celebrity: Which Cruise Line Fits You?

Getaways by CCTC · October 27, 2026

Cruise ship docked in a bright Caribbean port

Both lines are part of the same family, both are wonderful, and they're built for different trips. Here's the short version we give clients on the phone.

Choose Royal Caribbean if

You're traveling with kids or teens, you want the big ship energy, and you like the idea of a water slide, a rock wall, and a Broadway style show in the same day. The newest ships are destinations by themselves, and the kids clubs are genuinely excellent.

Choose Celebrity if

You want quieter mornings, better food, and a grown up feel. The ships are smaller, the design is beautiful, and the service leans polished rather than lively. It's our most requested line for couples and for multigenerational groups without little ones.

Cost

Base fares are often close. Celebrity's Always Included fare bundles drinks, wifi, and tips, which makes the comparison fairer than the first number suggests. Royal's add ons (drink package, dining, internet) are where a Royal sailing catches up.

Dining

Celebrity wins on the main dining room and the specialty restaurants. Royal wins on variety and on family friendly options at every hour.

Cabins

Both do balconies beautifully. Royal's connecting family cabins and the Ultimate Family Suites are unmatched if you need space for four or more. Celebrity's Infinite Veranda cabins are lovely for two.

What we'd actually ask you

Are there kids? Do you want to be busy or unhurried? Is dinner a highlight or a formality? Those three answers pick the line almost every time.

Tell us your travel window and who's coming, and we'll send two options side by side with real numbers.
