Lush Costa Rican rainforest meeting the coastline

Where to go in Costa Rica

Arenal and La Fortuna

Volcano views, hot springs, hanging bridges, and waterfalls. The best first stop for adventure with comfortable lodges.

Manuel Antonio

Rainforest right up against the beach, with sloths and monkeys on the trails. Wonderful for families.

Guanacaste

The all-inclusive coast. Big resorts, dry sunny weather, and easy flights into Liberia.

When to visit Costa Rica

December to April

Dry season and peak demand. Sunny, reliable, and worth booking 6 to 9 months ahead.

May and June

Green season begins. Afternoon showers, gorgeous landscapes, and much better pricing.

July and August

A drier spell in the middle of green season, and a favorite family window.

September and October

The wettest months on the Pacific side, and the quietest. Great value if you don't mind rain.

Questions we hear most

How many stops should we make?

Two in a week, three in ten days. A rainforest stop plus a beach stop is the trip most people love.

Is Costa Rica good for families?

Yes. Wildlife walks, zip lines, and gentle beaches, with plenty of all-inclusive options if you'd rather not move around.

Do we need a rental car?

Not necessarily. Private transfers and small domestic flights are often easier, and we'll price both for you.
